School of Medicine: Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism

The division has increased its faculty with research in diabetes, thyroid disease, and reproductive health. The expanded capabilities allow the division to remain active in patient care, teaching students and residents, providing educational seminars and CME programs, training endocrinology fellows, and continuing established research programs while developing new ones. Clinical activity continues to increase. All forms of endocrine diseases are managed with special emphasis on patients with thyroid disease and diabetes mellitus.

Integrative Biology and Physiology

The research mission of the Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology (IBP) is dedicated to an integrative systems biology approach to biomedical discovery.
We partner with colleagues across disciplines to investigate questions ranging from the gene/molecule to the whole animal, while striving for excellence in research and dissemination of new knowledge with local, national, and global impact.
Current IBP research is cross-cutting and state-of-the-art in the areas of cardiovascular/muscle, metabolism/obesity and hypertension.

Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Public Health

The Center for Leadership Education in Maternal and Child Public Health has been at the University of MN since 1954. Focused on skills development to serve the programmatic and policy needs of maternal and child health (MCH) populations, our students work to improve the health of women, children, fathers, and families. Our training focuses on public health skills development (program/policy design and evaluation, epidemiology) and MCH content (such as infant/child/adolescent health, family systems, and women’s health).
